5Rhythms® Dancing in Maine

Worldwide there are more than 225 men and women certified by Gabrille Roth to teach the 5Rhythms. Of the approximately 20  teachers in the Northeastern United States, four of them are in Maine.

Chris Werner (now Chris Donovan) was the first to teach the 5Rhythms here, in the 1980s, and one of her students was Sarah Wilde, who herself began teaching in 1988. Although Chris is no longer in Maine, two students of Sarah—Kari Luehman and Gail Edgerly—are teaching today, as is Anna Witholt-Abaldo, who moved here from Holland. Together and individually, they offer a variety of classes, multi-day workshops and other events throughout much of the state. They also periodically sponsor renowned guest teachers such as Andrew Holmes, Michael Molin-Skelton, and Amara Pagano.

Sarah, Kari, Gail and Anna are committed to making the 5Rhythms available to everyone in Maine, so if you don't immediately see something near you, please get in touch. You may be the catalyst for bringing the 5Rhythms to your neck of the woods.

CLASSES are offered by all four Maine teachers and range from 1-1/2 to three hours long. Some are available on a drop-in basis while others are by series registration. There's even an ongoing weekend class for children and parents!

WORKSHOPS include a wonderful variety of offerings based on the 5Rhythms. Among them are such rich experiences as Heartbeat, the Holy Actor, Sensual Awakening and The Dance of Relationship.

MANY OTHER EVENTS, both ongoing and one-time presentations, are also available to beginners and experienced 5Rhythms dancers alike. Perhaps you'd like to join a Solstice Celebration or Sacred Wave, or dance yourself silly at the Full Moon Dance.
